I THINK I'm going to do the safeseat1 and the scenera tonight but the options I have available are the safeseat, the scenera, a true-fit and a marathon. Any input?
Oh, my daughters are 22 months, 23 lbs and 7 months, 22lbs. so the true-fit is WITH the headrest.

We have a 2003 Saturn VUE. It has LATCH all three across, but it appears, by my searching on this website, that the anchors have a 48 lbs weight limit. My son is 46 lbs, not to mention the seat's weight.

I want to install it in the center position but the center belt doesn't lock, even though I pull it all the way out. I have talked to the dealer and they checked other '03 VUEs - don't lock in the center either.

I tried putting it behind the driver where the belt DOES lock, but I just couldn't get it as secure and tightened down in that position like I can in my minivan. It's as if it's too close to the door. It doesn't feel safe and rock solid to me.

I can use a locking clip in the center position? It doesn't look like the Regent came with one and I don't know what one looks like. Is this a standard thing I can buy at Babies R Us or something?

Also, we have an old Regent that was involved in a very slow fender bender (like 5-10 mph?). The insurance company bought us a new one. I read on Britax's site about a "severe" crash...do you think it's okay to use the old Regent as a spare in our other vehicle?

my DD for her 6th birthday is getting a "girly" booster for full time use. her birthday isn't until MAY but i can't help but think ahead here. so humor me please. she is currently around 45lbs & 45in. skinny minnie. we have no need for 3 across to worry about. she rides in turbo occasionally. the turbo is the red/black cover which she doesn't mind but i want to get her a PINK seat. LOL the current turbo can be our spare/grandma seat. she has a younger brother who is 2 years behind her. she doesn't fit the monterey yet. she has too much wiggle room.
my choices are as follows....
1. buy a "girly" turbo- then later her brother can use that seat with the boy cover we already have. perhaps DD at 8yo will either get the monterey (we already have in red) or she can go backless.
2. buy a vivo in "girly" - would she still fit comfortably thru the long haul beyond 8yo? then i'd have to buy DS a booster too later. i like the idea of getting something different KWIM?

sorry but i HATE the parkway SG & the oobr is way too much money

so Vivo or Turbo?

We had an Recaro Signo and an Britax Regent in there.
The seats don't appear damaged- they smell horrible, and got wet from the firemen spraying the car to get the fire out...
The damage did not effect the front seats- all the way back...

I am going to take the covers off and fully inspect to see if there is any thing I can see- but I would like to know if there is an "recommendation" for this?

So I have to pick up a kiddo from day care this week and mom left the van for me to use because she's on a trip. Well I go out to the van, just to look and see that the harness straps are too low. Easy peasy- I uninstalled, rethreaded, went ahead to LATCH it in. I install it and realize the LATCH straps are twisted. *grumble* Fine, I uninstall, untwist, reinstall. Then to my horror, as I'm looking at my wonderful install, I realize that mom had a FF car seat's LATCH belt threaded through the RF belt path!! So I rethread the LATCH, make sure it's not twisted, pushed off the roof, install as tight as can be, and tether it.

Oh. My. Goodness.

What if I hadn't look into the van?

(I haven't used her van all week- he's been riding in my True Fit in my car.)

Wow. Just, wow.

Ok, maybe I'm just picky but when I went to buy a Graco My Ride 65 for my DD at Babies R Us today every box on the shelf looked like it had been thrown around and jumped on. The one I took off the shelf to read teetered on the floor because the car seat was almost falling out the bottom of the box! I mean come on now you're not supposed to use a car seat after a car accident (I know partly because of the straps) but I'm sure being banged around enough could damage it's effectiveness. So I asked a sales person if there were anymore since those were in bad shape. Needless to say she was not happy about me complaining about the condition of the boxes and after making me wait about 10 minutes, she got me one from the back. Well, she brought it out and when I brought it home I noticed the box has a round orange sticker on it. Does anyone know if this means it had been previously returned or is it just a random sticker?

TIA!

Hi, we were involved in an accident so I had to replace our car seats. I am GOOD at getting the car seats in there snug and at the right recline.
We replaced a Radian 80 with a Britax Frontier. Right now I am in a Ford Explorer with 3 rows of seats. I normally drive a Chevy Suburban - way more room.
So, I am trying to get the new Frontier into the rental Explorer. That seat needs to go in the third row, so my younger RF daughter can sit in the middle of the second row and my 10 year old daughter can sit next to her in the second row (so not in the front seat with the airbag). Anyway, that 3rd row seat does not have LATCH so we need to use the seatbelt. The seats are rather wide so I need to use the "long path" for the seat belt - which was a MAJOR pain to get all wound through that long path....here are my questions/issues

The long path takes the whole length of the seatbelt - it is locked all the way out - but the seat is snug and not moving - is this ok?

Because of all the looping around the long path I *think* the seatbelt is twisted up somewhere - is that ok?

I can do the short path but it isn't as snug - but I can get the seatbelt straight.

So what is the best idea?

I can look into switching the 2 babies so the little one RF in the back - I am just STILL winded from fighting the Frontier into the 3rd row.

I think I like this car seat - as far as quality and lifespan etc...I am really hoping it fits better in my Suburban - his normal seat in there is the driver side captain chair on the second row, does not have LATCH but the seatbelt has always been easy to get tight installs for the Marathon and the Radian.

Thank you :)

Just to give a bit of background, this is the third year I share this deal with my readers. In the past readers have loved this deal because it is been an affordable way to give what most would seem a luxurious gift (personalized towels) for less than $16.50. I have bought some of these towels, my mom has bought these towels. I love the huge bath sheets and can say I have been satisfied with them."

I've been racking my brain what to get my stepdad's mom, she's 'GG Louise' to my kids and my sister's kids. She lives in another state so we don't get to see her very often but I like to send her something nice, useful...not something that just clutters up her little home. Last year I sent her a Wolferman's basket for her Christmas breakfast. Anyway, when I saw these towels I thought that might be a nice idea and then it occurred to me...I could have 'GG Louise' put on them. Especially for the hand towel when a guest comes I thought she'd like showing that off, she likes being the boy's 'GG'. So I ordered her a pretty pink bath towel and hand towel both monogrammed in white with 'GG Louise' on them. And they'll each be wrapped in a gift box with a personalized card (that also says 'Don't open until Christmas!'). And they'll be shipped directly to her.

And the whole kit and kaboodle cost $20.98! :D

Now I'm trying to think of anyone else on my list these would be perfect for!

We drove last time as I refused to take DD (then 14mo) unrestrained in a bus. She will be 2.5 when we go. I'm wondering if the busses ever have seat belts and if so could I use it with DD's Boulevard. Any other idea's for the bus drive, are there any travel vests that would be suitable for a toddler in a bus? We are in DC area so the trip would be 95 North for 4 hours and I do not want to go without a carseat, but I would be ok to FF her for the bus drive. I know busses are safer than cars but she is only 27lbs and 37" so I do not want her to be unrestrained. In city we will take the subway and walk :)

First, the little orange strap that holds the LATCH strap is like not long enough or something because it is not allowing me to fully tighten the belt. It's holding it back some.
