GATE/FENCE separating pass. area from cargo space

We have installed a gate thing (dont know what to call it) right behind our third row bench to separate cargo space from passenger space. Two reasons... thought it would be safer when there's a stroller, groceries, etc back there (no trunk in a suburban!) and we have a great dane who needs to be restrained from jumping into the front seats during travel.

I guess my reasoning was that it would make the kids safer... especially with two RFing now since projectiles from the cargo area would likely hit them straight on

BUT now I;m wondering, since this is pressure mounted and doesn't actually "attach" to the car, am I creating a huge projectile?? If so, what do I use to keep the above mentioned scenarios from happening?

Try this link instead.. don't know why other one wouldn't work... http://www.statelinetack.com/item/mi...b-000423bb4e79

Yes, you are. If you want to use one of those barriers, it must screw in. Return yours and find one that screws in instead!

Oh, and I can not get the link to work.

So the ones you screw in, what do they screw in TO? The floor and ceiling? Who installs it, do you have to remove headliner and such?

I've never seen one that screws in. Where do you find them?

Unfortunately, We won't be returning ours, since we've had it for a while now, it just happened to pop into my head about the kids being turned back RF and if this would affect anything. So it looks like I just need to go buy a new one.

I am pretty sure it screws into the both the floor and the ceiling, right through the carpet and such.

Of course, there are these also. Lightweight and all. Won't hold cargo back though.

If the cargo is lower than the seat, you are fine, except in a roll over.

I didnt realize that!

I will check into that mesh one... that would be nice. And our dog... well... she's a great dane (and if you don't know anything about danes, they are the most doppy dogs ever! we like to call her a blonde!)... and if we were to string a few pieces of dental floss back and forth across the back, she'd be afraid to pass through it. She's a goof!

So that mesh one may work out very well for us! I was so concerned over the summer when I couched DD's t-ball team (and had to haul the equipment) that one of the kids would get belted with a ball or helmet or BAT , that I thought the gate would helo. Guess not! WOOPS!! It comes out tomorrow!

The dog needs a pet harness of some sort in order to not become a (large) projectile as well.
