Donate or throw away car seat that was in accident?

What are you supposed to do with a car seat after you’ve been in a car accident? The car seat is totally fine and in unaffected condition, but the car accident was pretty significant, but do I have to throw the car seat away? Or do I donate it? What should be done?

Most non-profits will not accept any second hand car seat due to liability issues with possible safety concerns due to damage, etc. My best suggestion is to wait for the next car seat recycling event at Target. Drop off the crashed seat and get your coupon for other baby gear.
